How are my onboarding coins calculated?

A connection bonus per channel, plus a performance bonus based on your recent video reach, up to 2,00,000 in total.

GoCoins: Allocation

Your onboarding coins come in two parts: a connection bonus and a performance bonus. Together they are capped at 2,00,000 coins.

Connection bonus: 2,000 coins the first time you link Instagram and 2,000 the first time you link YouTube, once each. Since 1 Coin equals ₹1, that is up to ₹4,000 of value toward stays. It is one-time per channel and is not re-earnable by disconnecting and reconnecting.

Performance bonus: this rewards your recent reach, not your follower count. We look at your videos from the last 90 days, up to your 10 most recent. For Instagram we count reels. For YouTube we count both Shorts and long-form. We work it out for each channel and reward the higher of the two, never the sum.

To keep it fair we use a trimmed average. We drop your single highest-view and single lowest-view video, then average the rest, so one viral hit or one quiet post doesn't distort your typical reach. That average is multiplied by a set rate to give your performance coins. The examples below assume a rate of 1 coin per average view.

A couple of guardrails: if you have only a handful of recent videos the performance bonus is zero for now, while your connection bonus still applies. Your onboarding coins are also capped at 2,00,000 in total, counting both parts together, so the performance bonus fills the space left after your connection bonuses. The exact rate is still being finalised, so treat the coin figures below as illustrative. Your in-app Rewards screen always shows your actual number.

Consistent reach

You posted 10 reels in the last 90 days: four hit 100K views and six did 25K. We drop your single best (one 100K) and single worst (one 25K), then average the remaining eight: three at 100K plus five at 25K is 425,000 views across 8, about 53,000. At a rate of 1, that is roughly 53,000 performance coins, plus your connection bonus.

One viral spike

One video hit 1,000,000 views and your other nine did 10K each. We drop the 1,000,000 and one 10K, then average the remaining eight, all at 10K, for 10,000. The single spike doesn't inflate your bonus: roughly 10,000 performance coins at a rate of 1, plus your connection bonus.

Only a few videos

If you have around three or fewer videos in the 90-day window, your performance bonus is zero for now. Your connection bonus of 2,000 coins per linked channel still applies.

Hitting the maximum

If your reach is big enough to take you past 2,00,000, you are credited the full 2,00,000 and your Rewards screen shows the welcome reward maxed out. That is ₹2,00,000 of value toward stays, the most the welcome reward goes to.
