Day by day
Day 1: Hanoi arrival & Old Quarter
On arrival at Hanoi airport, your private driver transfers you to your hotel. In the afternoon your guide leads you to the train street and Hoan Kiem Lake, finishing in the Old Quarter's '36 streets'.
Day 2: Halong Bay day cruise
Drive roughly 2.5 hours to Tuan Chau Harbour and board a day cruise with lunch on the water. Visit a cave, kayak or take a bamboo boat through a lagoon, and stop at an island beach before cruising back and returning to Hanoi in the evening.
Day 3: Fly to Danang, Cam Thanh & Hoi An
Take a morning domestic flight to Danang. In the afternoon, ride a bamboo basket-boat among the water-coconut palms at Cam Thanh, then explore Hoi An's old town, the Japanese Bridge, the Phung Hung house and the Phuc Kien Assembly Hall.
Day 4: Ba Na Hills & the Golden Bridge
Ride the cable car up to Ba Na Hills for the Linh Ung Pagoda, the Debay wine cellar and the gardens of Le Jardin d'Amour, and walk the Golden Bridge held aloft by two giant stone hands. Entry includes the Fantasy Park games and hill train.
Day 5: Fly to Saigon, afternoon city tour
Fly to Ho Chi Minh City and, in the afternoon, tour the colonial heart of Saigon: the Reunification Palace, the Eiffel-designed Old Saigon Post Office and Nguyen Hue Walking Street, with time at Ben Thanh Market if the schedule allows.
Day 6: Mekong Delta, My Tho
Drive about 1.5 hours to My Tho. Visit Vinh Trang Pagoda, cruise the Tien River past the four islands, visit an orchard for fruit and folk music, and ride a hand-rowed sampan along a coconut-shaded canal before returning to the city.
Day 7: Departure
After breakfast, your private driver takes you to the airport for your onward flight.
