Day by day
Day 1: Arrival & Almaty city tour
Arrive at Almaty International Airport and meet your guide. A panoramic city tour takes in Panfilov Park and Zenkov Cathedral, Republic Square, the Green Bazaar and the Koktobe hill cable car.
Day 2: Medeu, Shymbulak & Sunkar
Visit the Medeu skating rink and the Shymbulak ski resort in the mountains above Almaty, then the Sunkar falcon centre in the Big Almaty Gorge.
Day 3: Charyn Canyon & transfer to Kolsay
Drive east to the Charyn Canyon and its Grand-Canyon-like rock formations, then continue to the Kolsay Lakes region for the night.
Day 4: Saty Village & lower Kolsay Lake
Visit Saty Village and the lowest of the Kolsay Lakes, set among spruce forest in the Northern Tien Shan.
Day 5: Kolsay Lakes trek
A day among the Kolsay Lakes, with the option to walk towards the upper lakes through the mountain scenery.
Day 6: Kaindy Lake & return to Almaty
Visit Kaindy Lake with its submerged spruce trunks rising from clear water, then return to Almaty.
Day 7: Departure
Transfer to Almaty International Airport for your onward flight.
